Pagi yang Teduh di Narita

Tokyo, 9 Agustus2010, 8.59 am

Tebak aku lagi dimana? Narita Airport!!! Whoa! Sejam lagi aku terbang meninggalkan Jepang.. T_T” .berjuta rasanya, sungguh. Sedih. Senang. Campur aduk.

Anyway! Barusan aku deg2an parah!

Tahukah kau kawan..? kemaren, tepat sehari sebelum aku terbang, alien card ku ilaaaang! Dan sekarang aku kena batunya. Jadi kawan, kalo kamu pergi ke jepang dan dapet semacam KTP gitulah, jangan pernah dihilangin.Kalo dihilangin ntar bisa diceramahin kayak aku barusan, hehehe.

Alhamdulillah selamet, cuma disuruh menandatangani surat keterangan ngilangin kartu itu. Nah aku tulis reason-nya apa coba?

“I lost it in a way between school and home”, hehe, kayaknya sih petugasnya percaya2 aja, melihat gadis bermuka polos dan berkerudung pink, pake tas ransel pink bunga2, trus tas slempang hello kitty gede (karena saking gedenya, banyak orang yang nengok ke aku dan bilang kawaii..

Lost..

“Assalamualaikumm…”

Hosh hosh hosh… rushed to home, deadly sweaty exhausted.

“Huwaaa, aku nyasar lagi Ras!”

“Waalaikumsalam, haha, emang kapan kamu ngga nyasar fa?”

Hehe, bitterly smiling. Indeed, for me it was (really) hard to go somewhere far without getting lost. And that day, I just got home (and of course, got lost and even felt asleep in train so I missed the home station) from my hostfam’s house. And the day before yesterday, I was lost on the way home from baito (part time job). So that’s why, my roommate was not so surprise. It seems like almost every day I am lost.

But today I’m really happy tough. You know what? I am sure this is the VERY first time of my life time IN Japan. One Japanese-grown up-man asked me to guide the way! Well, maybe it was not unusual thing for me in Indonesia, when some foreigners ask me which direction to go. But in this case, among the Japanese people near Suzukakedai Station, I AM, an Indonesian head-scarfed girl, which is no one doubt that I AM THE FOREIGNER—who  always got lost and always be the one who ask the way to policeman. And the man, which is TOTALLY JAPANESE, ask me about the way, in JAPANESE LANGUAGE!.

WHATT?? At once, I thought he spoke to other Japanese people, but HEY, HE ASKED ME!

He just suddenly                                         :

Me, nervously,  have nothing word but     Continue reading

Don’t Judge the Snail by Its Speed

Okay, let’s see what would pop up in your mind when you saw the snail? It must be the “Lemot-est” (slowest) creature living on earth. But just now I read how scientist—and pharmacist too I think, could magnify its speed by methamphetamine, a kind of central nervous system stimulant drug. But, don’t imagine about the marathon competition of running snails, it’s about the memory improving speed of snail’s “brain”. Yes they did, the snails might be the slowest creature if you make them to run, but they could be faster to memorize something. The scientists make them learn not to extend their breathing tube in low oxygen level of methamphetamine-laced water, and the snails did faster and smarter to memorize it.

What happened yesterday was totally remind me about these things: if you can’t judge the book by its cover, so you must not judge the snail by its speed. I didn’t meet any snail yesterday though, yet Nikko is the awesome place with  so beautiful green and hilly scenery—I think I would glad to visit it someday in autumn season, truly it was awesome! Well, except the temples. I mean, although it was an old-ancient-famous temple, 8 months stayed in Japan could make you bored with the temples and traditionally Japanese things that previously seems so cool when you are not here. But anyway, I didn’t said that the combination of temples and Japanese hills scenery were too bad.

The thing that actually made me write about that snails and book’s cover judgment is about what I DID think about my Continue reading

Cheering Cherry Blossoms!

Maybe the unbelievable fact that Japan is the high-tech country, yet the grim ripper country due to the suicide rate in Japan is the highest among others. You can imagine how scary here is, in every year there are (about more than) 30.000 Japanese suicide due to dreadful depression. It was like one Japanese suicide every 15 minutes, everyday!

But don’t worry, that’s not in spring, the rate calmly decreasing every spring, that’s (what I believe) supposed to be the angel flowers they called S-A-K-U-R-A cheering them up, relieving the pain, and relaxing the nerves. Then, when that buds growing showing the pinky petals, coloring Japan atmosphere, make it the most awesome land on earth!

Extremely sure, the cherry blossoms really make you happy all day!

Here are some pictures of the cheering cherry blossoms in Shinjuku Gyoen Tokyo I captured this morning, enjoy it, feel the way they cheers you up!

Hey Wake up!, Spring is Coming!

be strong to the wind

Stand up with your own strength

Yokohama Trip :)

Jealously staring at my friend’s blog,Risi, who filled her blog enormously with fun trips in Japan, lead me to this post. I open photos files in my sweet Panasonic Lumix DMC FX-150, found out a lots picture that I didn’t touch again after that trip, except upload it on my fesbuk. Now, about Yokohama trip!

This is "Gudang Garam",hehe

This is my second trip to Yokohama (but I’m never bored), and there were Chinese New Year festivals. I love Yokohama especially Minatomirai rather than other city in Japan (that I’ve been visited), it was quiet and sooo Europe! And also, romantic! My lab-mate Minato-san told me that Minatomirai is deetosupooto (read: date spot). By the way, her name is Minato didn’t mean that she was born in Minatomirai or she had a huge family in Minatomirai, but Japanese always like that, their name sometimes just the same with the place name. “Miyazaki” is one of professor name in Tokyo Tech, but also name for a place in Japan, and also name one of Japanese restaurant in Bandung. Weird? Maybe Continue reading

Hehe. Namun Alhamdulillah sensee ku bukan tipe sensee yang dingin, jutek, apalagi galak dan bermuka seram, bahkan sensee orangnya baik banget. Sensee kami masih muda, setidaknya rambutnya belum putih semua, mengajak maen Es Seketing,  senang bercanda sekaligus menanyakan progress research sambil makan siang bersama dengan anggota lab.

Senangnya maen ski kemaren!

Bahkan aku Continue reading

Man Jadda Wajada

Alhamdulillah..Senangnya..

Today is the peak DAY of my one month Nihongo speech preparing and practicing. Thank a million for my best friend Baharu-sensei (Thanks for every word, even my tutor thought you are Japanese! ) and Isa-san (Thanks for everything Sa, you always reply my Nihongo mail so fast), hehehe Otsukaresamadeshitaah!! And also my best roommate who Larasmeong-chan patiently hear my speech noise in the mid night, and encourage me before I go fight.

Today, they are sugoi-ing me so much, because of the amazing speech come from the new member that learn Nihongo 3 months (That’s Bahar’s Nihongo, not me.. hehe). “No, not only the speech text, but your pronuntiation is good” (hmm, maybe because I read it loudly everyday, hehe, you can do it if  practice longer), even someone thought that my major is Japanese Language, not pharmacy! Hhmm…

The speech contestant divide into two groups, the elder Scholarship’s member and the newly entered member like me. From the first group will selected 5 best contestant for the next March Speech Contest (again..), but all of the second group, I am include, should do speech again next March (since we are one year program scholarship, then Speech Contest may forced us to be seriously learn Nihongo deeply, before we go back from Japan), so there is no winner of our group. But, I’ve done my best today,  and I get a cute room shoes as a purezento.. hihi..

Here is My Speech, it is about Man Jadda Wajada.

Continue reading

Cold..

I was in campus and following Harry-san, my best tutor I ever had, walking from S2 building to B2 building brought a couple of tube containing RNA, he will teach me how to measure the concentration of RNA that has been isolated. One thing that I wonder is.. why he just brought the tube barely, without the ice box! Usually in Bandung students always bring the bio-stuff like protein or DNA or RNA inside the ice box, it is safe since that stuff may be degrade in room temperature for long time. But he just say, “No.. No problem, because the weather outside is cold”.

Then, exactly! It’s really cold outside!

Sakura in front of Tokyo Tech Main Building

When the Sakura leaves just completely fell done, the weather become cold day after day.. I click the online forecast and it said 2゚C here now. Continue reading

Chisetsu Elementary School Visit

Yesterday, all YSEP students and others students of Topic on Japan class went to Chisetsu Elementary School. We walk to go there, map guide said that it takes only 20 minutes from Ookayama campus but actually it’s far enough to make your stomach hungry again after breakfast.

But the elementary school students are completely surprising!

You know, It feels like in Chibi Maruko Chan Movie where I can see so many children around and they just talking something that I didn’t know what is it mean. I got the first grade class, where the 7 years old kids with reddish cheek shouting, yelling, and laughing each other, until sensei tell them to be quiet. You can imagine that crowded class and sensei shouting like in Crayon Shin Chan Anime, but the students are not so naughty like Shin Chan.

Omoshirokatta ne.. Continue reading

Continue reading

Nice Illumination

Yesterday I go to Shinjuku with my friends and see some awesome illumination!!

Every end of year, there are Illumination in Japan. It is like you can see all of cute stuff decorated by little twinkling lamp. So many twinkle lamps! Even my electrical-student-friend have a stupid thought to take it as material for lab experiment!  Continue reading

Jilbabku Sayang

Menjadi muslimah berjilbab di Jepang ternyata sangat menyenangkan! Hehehehe..

This is the first YSEP Factory Study Tour. We went to Honjo Safety Learning Center. The aim of this tour is to let us know about how to safe our live if there is a disaster for example thypoon, earthquake, smoke in the building, and fire. This knowledge is very needed since we never know when and where the disaster will attack. So if we prepare it well, our life will be safe.
